Beautiful Hindu Wedding at Four Seasons Dubai.

Dubai is becoming increasingly popular for young Indian couples to get married. The main reason is that they want the wedding be about the two of them. When doing a destination wedding for Indian couples the number of guests is normally between 150 to 200 guests. I would probably say that Indian weddings are my favourite weddings that I do as I love to see the cultural and strong family values that they have.

A wonderful Indian couple from the UK approached me to plan their destination wedding in Dubai. They were a Hindu couple and were looking to have their ceremony and wedding reception in Dubai.  The couple and I  viewed many hotels and yachts in Dubai and the couple decided to have their Mehndi on a yacht and the wedding ceremony and reception at the Four Seasons hotel. A popular choice for many couple in Dubai.

On the first morning the bride had the Haldi ceremony at the Mercury Lounge at the Four Seasons with some fabulous views of Dubai. (The Haldi ceremony is when the bride and or groom are massaged with haldi paste and fragment oils, they then take a purification bath.) The reason for the haldi is to ward off evil spirits from affecting the bride and groom. Haldi holds such importance within the Indian traditions because it also purifies and cleanses the body.  Following the haldi lunch was served.

The couple decided on a large yacht for the Mehndi party. Its a great option for the  mehndi as the guests get to see some of the great back drops Dubai has to offer and it is something different not what you would typically do for a mehndi.  They also did the Choora ceremony on-board before the mehndi began. For the yacht I always recommend an Arabic theme with Arabic food, decor and Arabic dancers as its fun and something different. The couple also had a DJ playing in the night.

The wedding ceremony took place the following day in the grounds of the Four Seasons Hotel.

The Groom arrived via horse with Dhol Drummers and his family. As they made their way to greet the brides family. It was like the scene of a Bollywood movie with singing and dancing as the greeted each other. The beautiful bride makes her way to the ceremony with her family.

The colour scheme  for the wedding was gold and white. Te ceremony lasted approximately 2 hours. When the ceremony finished they had light lunch followed by a break of a few hours before the reception.

The reception was an opulent affair. The couple opted again for a gold and white Theme. The centre pieces consisted of large golden globes with candles as well as large flower arrangements on gold candle sticks. They Had a white twinkle dance floor and and a white carpet. They also had a professional lighting technician as well as a Gobo with their Initials on. The cake was also very large and fabulous. All in all a fabulous wedding and a wonderful couple to work with. I wish them all the best for the future.
