Going to a wedding is normally fun but very often they can be the same or at least very similar. So to give your guests the “je ne sais quoi” experience at your wedding and if you have the budget i would suggest the following:
- Get a wedding planner: A wedding planner is a must if you have if you have the budget as they really take the stress out of everything allowing you to focus on yourself rather than the stress of everything that comes with organising a wedding. They work with you on finding the venue, budget management, concept, theme and design, menus, supplier selection, floral design and decor, entertainment, photography and videography recommendation, travel and transportation and on site co-ordination on the day making sure everything runs to schedule. More importantly, they will be saving you money.
- Hire a crane or drone: A photographer and videographer are no longer enough for many couples.
It has now become very popular to get a crane with your videographer to enable better production value offering a bird’s eye view from above. The video normally also goes on to a live feed projector so all can see. A drone is even more popular getting the aerial shots and fantastic panoramic shots. But please make sure you have permission to use a drone in the area you are using it otherwise you can be fined. - Confetti Cannon:
I highly recommend a confetti cannon for your wedding as the pictures that can be taken are amazing. People generally use them for their entrance, cutting the cake or the first dance. - Dry fire works: Again are a great fit with the confetti cannons.
I would suggest to my clients to use both budget allowing. They look great for the entrance and first dance and really give the `’wow`’ factor. - Live music: I always recommend to my clients to hire a saxophone player, violinist, a band or a singer as it gives the wow factor. It normally works well for the canapé drinks reception after the wedding ceremony. It really breaks things up and can be a good ice breaker for guests.
It is also nice to have something through dinner not just background music to have a singer or band to play they are also great for the party but i always recommend keeping the DJ as well as good as a band is they are never as good as the original sound tracks.
- Toast master: A toast master is a great investment especially for larger weddings. As they are the genial host of wedding. They take control of the running order of the day. They ensure guests are looked after and that everyone is where they should be, when they should be. As well as making sure that everything stays on schedule and runs smoothly. They announce seating, speeches, cake cutting and the first dance taking away the stress for the bride and groom.
- P
rofessional Lighting: So many couples want to scrimp and scrape when it comes to lighting. But why pay for expensive decor when you can not see them properly in the pictures. If you speak to any photographer and videographer, the lighting makes the pictures. So if you can afford it pay for a technician to stay on site controlling the moving spotlights changing the colours throughout the evening. - GOBO: is normally used for the dance floor and throughout the wedding. The great thing about this is it does need to be static so can move throughout the evening.
It is normally the logo the bride and groom used for their invitations or can be designed for them with the name of the bride and groom and date of the wedding. They look great and look fabulous in pictures. - Dance Floors: quite often couples opt not to have a dance floor or use the venue’s basic wooden dance floor. But if you have the budget invest in one for the day. From custom made acrylic to sparkle, to checked to mirror. There are a lot of choices and they look great, so worth investing.
- Cover the ballroom floor with white carpet: As we all know however luxurious the hotel is, the ballroom carpet is normally horrendous. This is so stains don’t show, but they don’t look good in pictures. It photographs amazingly if you cover the floor with white or neutral carpet.
- Back drops and Photo booths: When you hear photo booths you think passport picture, but over the last few years there are now so many options available. From magic mirrors, 360 booths, selfie booths, black cab photo booths, roaming cube, flower back drops, personal back drops — they look great and it gives guests a great memory to take away for the day. Prices for good flower walls start from £200, personalised back drops also start from £200 and 360 photo booths start from £500.
