Walking down the aisle is not enough for some couples. If you are an adrenaline junkie and want to do something different for your wedding here are a few ideas to add to-your list. As a wedding planner I am lucky enough to have been involved in planning some of these crazy things.

Parachute Jump- Yes it really is possible to say your vows while jumping out of a plane at 16000 ft falling at 120 miles per hour.  It is more for the experienced jumpers and is available at sky dive clubs around the world.  The hardest part is finding  a preacher that can skydive while doing the ceremony (not for the faint hearted). The ceremony is recorded and what a memory to share with he grandkids one day. I  have been lucky enough to have organised one in Dubai. The most popular countries to do these are the USA/Vegas, Australia, and New Zealand.

Scuba Diving   Saying your vows under water is a unique and memorable way to get married especially for diving lovers. As in any wedding ceremony, vows are said  and in most cases this is done with diving slates for the classic written version but many couples now opt for underwater audio coms so they can hear each other when they speak. Then for the rings they are put on in the normal way, just try not to drop them in the sand as they are hard to find. Once married you may kiss your partner. This can prove awkward for inexperienced divers, but most take their regulators out for a minute for a quick kiss. Once the ceremony is over you make your way to dry land get changed and have the reception with family and friends on dry land. Popular countries again are USA, Mexico, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Bunjee Jumping:  Ever fancied saying your vows followed by a bunjee jump as husband and wife? This couple did it in Scotland the only place in the UK and the celebrant jumped with them after. What a good sport! This is also available and popular to do in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Skiing in the morning and then say I do in the afternoon

If you are a ski lover it is becoming increasingly popular to get married in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, Banff or in Zermatt.  With fabulous white backdrops in the snow and a winter wonderland feel why would you not want to. You Will say you’re vows in the morning with the fabulous mountain views.

 

Hot Air Balloon  

If you have always wanted to go up in a hot air ballon. It may be of interest to know that you can now get married in one with the wind blowing in your hair and the immense views around you. Available in the UK and globally.
